*UPDATE – A huge congratulations to all involved in the Cashel Tidy Towns who received 306 marks in this years Tidy Towns competition. You can read the adjudication report here.
We are on a mission to make Cashel the tidiest town in Ireland. We have made great strides over the last number of years and achieved remarkable success, getting a higher mark from the national adjudication committee each year and awarded 301 in 2015 – the tidiest town got 323.
So, we’re over 20 marks off the top, which is quite achievable over a number of years.
As a committee we are doing tremendous work to bridge the gap, but we need your help. The kind of help we need is not enormous – the competition is for the tidiest town or village, so the aim is to keep the place as tidy as possible.
This is where every householder and business premises in Cashel can help. We want everyone to take pride in where they live by ensuring that their houses are kept well and that the area in front of their houses is kept free of weeds, paper and other rubbish.
All we are requesting you to do is take a look outside your house once a week and if there is a weed appearing, pull it up, if there are papers flying around, capture them, if there is rubbish to be swept up, grab a brush. If you own a business premises, you may have to do this more than once a week.
We believe that if you commit yourself to this little effort and the committee continue to do the work they are doing, Cashel will bridge that gap between their present mark and the top one, AND BECOME THE TIDIEST TOWN IN THE COUNTRY. Wouldn’t that be great for all of us.
